When it comes to enhancing your outdoor living space, cutting corners is not an option. At Blue Flint Designs,they are dedicated to providing customers quality outdoor entertainment to withstand the test of time.

Owner Chad Hamlin talks about his business and the heart with which they serve the community. Alongside his wife Kim, they are a powerhouse of team minded go-getters who strive for excellence in all they do. With the mission to bless others through their business, they launched Blue Flint Designs in early 2021.

Chad’s experience in previous years expanded over several markets.Prior to starting Blue Flint Designs, he spent almost thirty years in marketing and sales. “I came from the sporting hunt business but also the firearms and weaponry business,” he says.“I represented some really large companies and was involved with some very unique products and people.”

He spent time working for a division within the Beretta Holdings. His work led him to some time on the law enforcement and military side of that before he worked for New Balance out of Boston. There, he says, “We were involved with the footwear but also the fire-retardant clothing systems for special forces and infantry.”

Prior to starting Blue Flint Designs, Chad spent several years working for a major shotgun manufacturer. His line of work led him to many unique individuals and opportunities over the years.

Chad was working for this shotgun manufacturer during Covid. “Like everybody else, it put you at home,” herecalls. He and Kim spent their time at their river property where Chad reveals he went back to his construction roots.He comes from a multi-generational family of carpenters.“My great-grandfather and his father werecarpenters. My grandfather from another side was a builder during my childhood.I was able to reconnect with that.”

While at home, Chad spent time examining the structures and fences in his community and became dissatisfied with what he saw. The integrity of the structures did not align with the ability to withstand tenor twenty years of wear and tear.

Interested in building quality outdoor entertainment, he says,“I built my own pergola system that was huge. Our friends were coming by and they were saying, ‘Wow, this is impressive!’”

Encouraged by their praise, Chad built similar structures for a few friends. At this point, he decided to create a business and do what he loved full-time. With the support of his wife Kim, they started Blue Flint Designs.

As Chad considered the intricacies of this venture, he decided not to place limitations on what his business could become. “I wanted to create something that wouldn’t back me in a corner for being local or for a particular fences ,homebuilding, or landscaping business.” The umbrella of work they perform under Blue Flint Designs allows them to follow the path of work wherever it leads them.In the three years they have been operational, Blue Flint Designs has expanded to include a variety of services. They have three divisions which include Blue Flint Designs, The Fence Doctor, and Blue Flint Land Development. Under Blue Flint Designs they have the expertise to do dry wall, framing, roof systems, floor systems, and more.

“Fence Doctor is my economical fence and deck division which [appeals to] more economically based families.”Through this division, Chad is able to provide sound fences and structures to a market of individuals with more cost-effective budgets. “As we’ve grown, that has been a very successful launch for us,” he says.

“Most recently we have launched Blue Flint Development,” Chad says excitedly. On their land development side,they have machinery to include forestry equipment, mulching machines, and bucket trucks. “We can do everything from tree removal all the way to grading systems and site prep. It fits right into that original purpose of outdoor entertainment. We can help engineer, design, prep, and build.”

With these three divisions, they offer customers an abundance of services. Within every aspect of their business, Chad says they work above and beyond to provide families with quality work. Their slogan,‘Blue Flint Designs,Built Beyond,’aims to show customers just how far they will go to build the best product.“

We engineer and incorporate over what it would take,” Chad says. “I want to build it like I would build it for myself, but also I want to build it the way the homeowner sees that happening.”

Kim speaks highly of Chad’s talent for carpentry. “He’s a natural visionary,” she says sweetly. “It’s been wonderful to see him create. He would do anything for his clients to be happy.”

While they are committed to building quality outdoor entertainment, Chad and his crews are dedicated to the vision of the homeowner. They desire to give their customers the satisfaction of knowing that in ten years from now they can still rely on the sturdiness and stability of their decks, pergolas,fences,etc.

Chad speaks of his crews with immense pride. Many of the men have acquired their skill for construction on the job, and Chad has been happy to help them cultivate their craft. “Their skill levels bound forward every day. Every week we get better and better,” he says.

On Chad’s team there is a project manager and personal manager in addition to the crews that work faithfully on every project. Every person adds to the business bringing strong work ethics and a passion for their trade.

Hiring the right employees is key, and Chad reaps the benefits of bringing the right people aboard his team. “The number one thing that our customers compliment is our team, our crew,” Chad says proudly. “My guys don’t smoke,they don’t drink, they don’t cuss. I love hearing how someone loves their build,”Chad shares. But even more headds, “I love to hear how they love my crew.”

As a homeowner, it is natural to be weary of who you allow on your property. “I would want a company that I could trust,” Chad agrees. His clients rest assured that the crews working on their property are respectful of their privacy and their possessions.They are committed to leaving a place cleaner than they found it. Customers appreciate this kind consideration.

“You can’t build, sell, be a doctor, or do anything without obstacles,” Chad recognizes. “We can call themmistakes but what we find out isthat they’re learning lessons.” He urges his team to see how every opportunitypropels them forward to be better builders, co-workers, and leaders.

While he is proud of their construction capabilities, Chad values the opportunity to bless others more than anything. “The construction industry just happens to be what I got into,” he says. “What we really are is a brand striving for excellence.”

In doing so, Chad recognizes the value of practicing the foundations of his faith while in this leadership position.He talks about being a good steward of faith to his kids, in his marriage, and with Blue Flint Designs. He hopes to live by example so that others will see and be inspired by His faith in the Lord and his determination to bless others through his business.

In closing, Chad emphasizes, “I want the network of business owners and leaders in my community to know that I’m coming and that my vision is to strengthen incredible networks.
